Privacy

Never Opted In is a newsletter and a website about consumer rules. This page says the main things we collect, why, who handles it, and how to ask for a copy, a correction or deletion.

What we collect

If you subscribe: your email address, the date, and signup details such as the page or link you came from.

If you open or click our emails: whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. Open counts are approximate.

If you buy the Letters Kit, our product: your email address and the order details. Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number.

If you email us: your message and your email address.

When you visit the site: our website platform, beehiiv, records page visits and uses cookies and similar browser storage to run the site, protect it from automated traffic and count visits.

Why we collect it

To send the newsletter and the Fine Print Cheat Sheet you signed up for, to deliver what you bought, to see which pages and emails are read, and to answer you.

Who handles it

The site and the newsletter run on beehiiv, which stores subscriber data and sends our emails. Payments go through Stripe. Each has its own privacy policy: beehiiv.com/privacy and stripe.com/privacy. When you subscribe, a list of other newsletters may appear; if you select one, beehiiv subscribes you to that newsletter as well.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. To ask for a copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion, email [email protected] from the address you subscribed with.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13.
